Casablanca Subic Hotel Review
Olongapo and Subic Bay are the nearest beach areas to Angeles City, with Angeles and Subic having a lot of twinned hotels, bars, and clientele. Being just an hour away from the city, Subic Bay is definitely the place to go!
Why Casablanca Subic?
I’m still asking myself the very same question. Despite Subic Bay and Olongapo being big as a tourist destination, there’s very little on Booking.com. This hotel seemed to be in a decent area, and the suites looked big and deluxe.
What are Casablanca Subic rooms like?
Absolutely nothing like the photos. The living room has a TV from the 90’s, the bedroom can hardly fit the bed inside, the kitchen is OK. They advertise that all rooms have a pool view. This is somewhat far from the truth.
Rooms cost $110, I had a serious buyer’s remorse.
Casablanca Subic Hotel Location
Whilst I can’t fully blame them for the location, it is slap-bang in the middle of the Subic Bay Freeport, essentially an industrial estate. It is also in the middle of a highway with only one bar next door, and basically nothing else. There is a sea view but hardly had any beach there.
Location is probably the worst thing about the Casablanca Subic
There’s a decent swimming pool but when I was there, it was being cleaned for half of the morning. Not really their fault, but it just added to what was a disappointing hotel.
Casablanca Subic – Facilities
The one saving grace of the place was the restaurant. There is another bar next to the hotel that at 9 pm had almost nothing left on its menu. The restaurant in Casablanca Subic was open late, had good drinks, and almost everything on the menu was available.
Breakfast is advertised as American or Filipino and is decent without being earth-shattering.
Conclusion on the Casablanca Subic
The location of the Casablanca Subic is frankly awful and unless you have your own vehicle it is not at all practical to stay there.
Price wise, the rooms at $110 are very much overpriced for what you get. They advertise a suite, and whilst the rooms are big, when you factor in everything else, it is not value for money.
The kitchen inside the room whilst very nice is rendered useless as there are no shops to buy food in.
For the same price, you can stay at Wild Orchid in Subic Bay, which is what I did on the second night.
